Wallwisher: Words that Stick!

May24

Looking for a way to integrate technology with literacy-based activities?  If so,then you must check out Wallwisher, a great web-based collaborative writing tool that can be utilized as both a classroom and/or professional development resource. This Web 2.0 application allows users to express their thoughts on a common topic by placing an electronic post-it note on a web page, or “wall”. In addition to text—pictures, videos, PowerPoints, PDF documents, Excel spreadsheets and/or web page links can be attached to notes.

An example of a wall I created for a “Cool Tools” PD session:

Classroom Connection:

There are literally dozens of ways to utilize Wallwisher in any classroom/curricular area.  A few examples include Do Nows, Exit Tickets, vocabulary and brainstorming activities, book reviews, pledges, suggestion boxes, honor walls, parking lots and thank you notes to name a few.
