Edutech for Teachers

Cool Tools for the 21st Century Classroom

Infographic of the Week: Our Future Demands STEM

August31

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, more than a million jobs that require specialized technology skills will be created by the year 2018. These occupations include scientists, doctors, software developers and engineers. That’s the good news! The bad news is there will not be enough qualified college graduates to fill these careers.

That said, the question for educators is, “Are we doing enough to get students interested in math and science?” Check out the infographic featured on Edudemic showing how schools can better prepare students for jobs in STEM related fields.

Don’t forget to use the embedded Zoom.it tools to zero in on the details.

Classroom Connection:

Use this visual to convince teachers and students about the importance of teaching and learning skills in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. The future of our country depends on it!

Infographics make really neat classroom posters too!  (Use the Block Posters web tool to create your poster.)

Infographic of the Week is a series designed to promote the use of infographics and visual literacy in the classroom.
