Edutech for Teachers

Cool Tools for the 21st Century Classroom

One Year Later…

February1

Wow! It’s hard to believe that one year ago today I launched the Edutech for Teachers blog—and most importantly, I crossed another item off of my professional bucket list!

Yep, 365 days later and I’m super psyched that more than 18,000 visitors have checked out the site, 7,000+ fans are now following updates via the corresponding Facebook page, nearly 200 follow edutech20 on Twitter and with the help of family, friends, colleagues and students, my page was named the Edublogs New Blog of 2012. I could not have imagined!

But way more important than the numbers and achievements are the connections I’ve made with so many impressive edtech gurus—individuals I learn from every single day—through a variety of social networks.

What began as a commitment to fulfilling a long-time goal has now transformed into an obsession—one that finds me wishing there were more hours in the day so I could experiment with new “cool tools”, write about their classroom applications and then share integration ideas with my PLNs. Spoken like a true geeky girl, right?

A special shout out to fellow edtechers Susan Oxnevad and Donna Baumbach (Aunty Tech) for the inspiration and encouragement you have provided throughout this virtual adventure. I’m looking forward to seeing where this journey takes me next… Perhaps I’ll be writing an e-book, developing an online course or maybe even building an Edutech for Teachers app!

Although my next undertaking is uncertain, one thing is for sure: My plans include maintaining this blog, so please swing by again real soon for the latest and greatest edtech tools on the planet!
