Cool Tools for the 21st Century Classroom

BeFunky!

March29

I know it sounds more like a great teacher survival motto than anything else, but BeFunky is actually a pretty sweet online photo editor.  With BeFunky even the less tech savvy can transform their pictures into extraordinary works of art in just a few clicks!

Not only does this Web 2.0 tool offer tons of neat effects and features, but users can give their creations more character by adding speech bubbles, frames, graphics, text and more!  That’s right!  Changing your pictures into oil paintings, vintage polaroids, or pop art has never been easier.  BeFunky’s sleek and simple tools also allow users to make corrections such as red eye, poor lighting or dull colors in seconds.

What makes BeFunky especially appealing for the classroom is that there is no sign-up or registration required!  Although if one chooses, a premium subscription is available.

Check out a photo one of my Tech Club students “pimped out” using BeFunky.  Pretty cool, huh?

Wanna keep having a blast with your photos while you’re on the go?  No problem!  BeFunky’s  popular app is ready to rock your Apple and Android devices.

Classroom Connection:

Use BeFunky in conjunction with any project or activity that requires the use of an image to convey an idea/concept:  Digital stories, reports, posters, advertisements, comic strips, wikis and/or blogs.  BeFunky can also be used to create comic style avatars for blogs and other social networking sites.

Go ahead…  BeFunky in your classroom!
