Cool Tools for the 21st Century Classroom

Make Fun Classroom Images with FotoRus

February5

Has anyone else noticed that there’s been a recent explosion of photo editing apps on the market, each with their own unique flair? Yep, it’s true—BeFunky, Image Chef, WordFoto and FX Photo Studio are just a few of my favorites.

Well, it’s time to add another contender to that top ten list! Meet FotoRus, the all-in-one iOS and Android app that not only features powerful editing tools, but it also provides users with some additional modes that are pretty cool: Collages, gif animation, and pic-in-pic effects. Yeah, all that—and it’s free!

Whether you choose to add some life to your photos with a variety of cool image filters, rockin’ motion effects and/or stylish borders, with FotoRus, there’s no such thing as a static photo with FotoRus! Heck, you can even make a photo dance, wiggle, jive, or do the “Gangnam Style”! Plus, there’s also an Online Library that provides users with unlimited access to tons of additional special effects—total coolness!

Do you need any advance editing skills to do all this great stuff with my photos? No way! It’s super easy to use. In fact, your new masterpiece is just a few taps away!

My Tech Club students really enjoy experimenting with this new find—especially the pic-in-pic option. That said, I asked them to create an example for this post and here’s what they sent my way…

Classroom Connection:

Use FotoRus in conjunction with any project or activity that requires the use of an image to convey an idea/concept: Digital stories, reports, posters, advertisements, comic strips, wikis and/or blogs. FotoRus can also be used to create interesting photos for a #edugood 365 Photo Project!

So, what’s not to like? Download a copy of FotoRus today and watch your students make their photos extra fun!
