Cool Tools for the 21st Century Classroom

Reinforce Skills with ABCya!

ABCya! is a web site that offers teacher approved educational games for K-5 students. The interactive activities, created by an educator from New Jersey, were designed to incorporate content areas such as math and reading while introducing basic computer skills to students. Holiday-related games and activities are also available in grade level sections as well.

The best news—besides being free—is that the ABCya! games do not require any special plug-ins or downloads nor do users have to register for an account in order to play.

Several of the ABCya! games such as Math Bingo are also available for the iPad, iPod and iPhone.  How cool is that?  Be sure to check them out in the iTunes Store!

Classroom Connection:

Use ABCya! as a fun way to reinforce academic skills and concepts taught in the curriculum and/or to differentiate instruction for students.
