Collaborate with ShowDocument
ShowDocument is a powerful and free online web meeting and document sharing application in which no download or installation is required. Once a session is created, users can collaborate and review documents in real time—with annotations and text being visible to all session members. Users also have accessibility to all information for co-editing purposes. Additionally, it is possible to draw and write on a virtual interactive whiteboard and to stream a YouTube video to a group in full synchronization. A feature even exists for co-browsing of Google Maps as well. Pretty neat stuff, huh?
Entering an open session in ShowDocument can be done with a given code number and/or users can be provided with a link to a specific session.
Classroom Connection:
ShowDocument is a very “cool tool” that can be utilized in various ways. For example, following a lesson or as a culminating activity, create a ShowDocument in which students are permitted to study and/or collaborate online with classmates in the form of reviewing materials, asking questions, completing a document—one the teacher can upload—and/or brainstorm ideas for a project. ShowDocument would also be an excellent tool to integrate into a project-based learning activity.
