Video Tricks with Vlix

July28

Looking for an app to add coolness to videos on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch? Well, the search is over! Vlix, a nifty in-app video editor will do the trick!

With a multitude of  special effects and features, there’s something to suit every personality—slo-mo, fast forward, vintage, 1970’s, x-ray and sparkles to name a few! And that’s not all! Users can also add customizable opening and closing titles and music—a track from the eclectic app collection or the device library. Oh, and did I mention that with Vlix, videos can be edited directly from the camera roll and those taken within the app.

By the way—all of the Vlix effects are added with a tap of one button, and users even get a demo of what the video is going to look like once the effect is applied. Yeah, it’s pretty nifty!

Once the video is complete, uploading to social sites is a breeze as Vlix is fully integrated with You Tube and Facebook. Just select the “send” option and the app will do the rest! Videos can also be shared via email or in the Vlix online community (if you choose to create an account).

OK—so, Vlix may not be iMovie, but not bad for a free download, eh?

Check out an example of a Vlix enhanced video shown below. And yes, I really did swim alongside this whale shark!

Classroom Connection:

The creation of movie trailers in the classroom not only provides students with highly engaging activities, but they utilize higher order thinking and writing skills as well. Introduce students to Vlix to get the job done! I know mine just love it!
