It’s hard to believe that tomorrow marks the 12th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Penatgon in Washington, D.C. And who could forget the heroic story of United Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, PA?

That said, check out the list of teacher-recommended resources shown below—videos, writing prompts, lesson plans, interactives and other thought-provoking activities—that can be utilized to commemorate this infamous day in American history.

Classroom Connection:

Many of our students of today either too young or not even born to fully understand what happened on September 11, 2001. Nor do some grasp the effects these terroristic attacks have had on their lives. That said, the teaching and learning resources mentioned above can provide background information that can be used for classroom discussions and/or writing activities. Most importantly, these sites can be utilized to take a moment to reflect and remember the lives lost as well as the heroes that emerged on that unforgettable day in American history.
