The 12 Digital Days of Christmas: Treasure #12
OK, teachers! Today marks the final day of The Twelve Digital Days of Christmas series of 2013—and I’ve saved a very interesting resource for last!
Did you ever wonder how much the gifts in the 12 Days of Christmas would actually cost? You know the ones I’m talking about—the French hens, the turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree. Of course, it depends on the cost of shipping, feed prices and supply and demand.
So, how can these costs be calculated? Well, if you check out the Gift Maker interactive, courtesy of PNC Wealth Management, then you and your students can build the gifts from this popular holiday classic to reveal their real-world prices in the current market.
Before using this interactive with students, have them predict the cost of each item. You might find that you have some future economists in the house!
Just hover over the interactive image below to check out the 30th Christmas Price Index in the Geeky Girl’s 12 Digital Days of Christmas!
