The Future of Edtech Infographic
Educators spend entire careers writing lesson plans and curricula to better prepare students for challenges they’ve yet to encounter.
With the rapid advancement of technology, the nature of these challenges changes almost daily. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that 65 percent of elementary school students will end up in jobs that haven’t been invented yet.
So, what exactly will the jobs of the future look like? And what must schools do to keep pace? Edudemic recently posted this infographic from Envisioning Tech, which maps out 40 ways education and technology will change over the next 30 years. Be sure to check it out!
Don’t forget to use the embedded Zoom.it tools to zero in on the details.
A shout out to Corey Murray, frequent contributor to the EdTech: Focus on K–12 magazine, for sharing this interesting info and graphic!
Classroom Connection:
Use this visual to show students and educators the way that technology is projected to continue shaping our lives, world—and education! What a great way to motivate, encourage, persuade and guide students in post-secondary career planning! It’s also an excellent visual for stressing the importance of exposing students to relevant, real-world tech tools in the classroom setting.
Infographics make really neat classroom posters too! (Use the Block Posters web tool to create your poster.)
BTW—visit the Envisioning Tech web site to download a free copy of the visualization (screen optimized PDF and/or high resolution PNG). There is also an option to purchase a poster as well.
Infographic of the Week is a series designed to promote the use of infographics in the classroom.
