Learn Digital Citizenship through an “Avatar Adventure”

August6

Looking for a digital citizenship unit? Then Avatar Adventure—created by tech guru Susan Oxnevad—is a must-see resource for you!

This original masterpiece is an interactive learning experience designed to provide students and teachers with opportunities to focus on digital citizenship while engaging in constructive play. Yep, that’s right! Users are exposed to a variety of Web 2.0 tools such as Mentor Mob, Wallwisher, Answer Garden and VoiceThread to name a few as they travel through a series of activities.

The fun begins with an overview of the adventure; then users create an avatar that is utilized throughout the remainder of the journey which revolves around learning to publish in a safe, savvy and copyright-free manner. As an added bonus, the a NETS aligned lesson plan is even included! How cool is that?

TheĀ Avatar Adventure is embedded below. Be sure to hover over the Thinglink graphic to check out the hotspots that will guide you through the activities.
